Doesn't the plastic wrap do that?

Honestly, there are like 3 colours bearings with the car (orange, black, grey), the front and rear pivot balls aren't even the same. A set of ball ends were thrown in, un-bagged. I ended up with 4 shims and no explanation what they do. One bag had a label that was so faded I could barely read it. Parts are de-treed (nice) but not de-burred (not nice). The kit looks kind of rushed to be honest. It seems the kit was not assembled in the Netherlands. Consistency seems a bit off.

True, but how do I loosen the swaybar so I can adjust it? I use an allen screw driver, then a flathead to adjust it. Is it so hard to design a car where I can use the same screw driver to first loosen then adjust the rollbar? This needs a second look.

I've actually had this discussion with Rene Cornella and he pretty well said the same thing. My point is I can't see how it would hurt to add it to the manual. Even with the numbers in the manual, you'd still have the ref guide. I have a feeling few customers care though. If they did, the numbers would go in.

I don't doubt you'd use it more than once. Maybe 3-4 times. It just seems like a pointless inefficiency. Is there really no other way to design the rear axle to get rid of this thing? If the entire car could be made with the same diameter screw, that'd be the ultimate

Very happy with the kit. Wish I could post some photos but the site keeps saying 'Upload of file failed' even though the pictures are already under the noted limit. Anyone know how to fix this? Files are jpg, 153k.

The swaybar is adjusted on the fly, no need to loosen setscrew. It just bites the swaybar lightly enough to hold it in place, but you can still rotate the blades. Try it when you finish the car.

Plastic wrapping is vacuum sealed so you can never guarantee damage through corrosion and what not.

Different color bearings doesnt hurt, your still getting the same quality serpent bearing!

Pivot balls in the rear were updated, new material, new length, added strength. Be happy about these!

All the other manufacturers use the snapring, so even if you bought a mugen or a kyosho, youre going to need one!

But then again, as long as your happy with the kit, keeps a smile on my face too.

does anyone happen to have a receiver mounting bracket that goes on the belt side of the 960? I checked with ashford and he said he was not able to get one.

Guy's

Can anyone tell me or give me a link to the parts that come in the 960-07 to 08 upgrade kit?

A link or complete list would be great as I need to know if I need a new top deck & chassis or not?

Does the 960 08 kit includes both the OS1 and OS2 wheel axles and knuckles?

Default the Question

The chassis and top deck are the same as the 07 car! A few pages back Nigel posted a list of all the differences of the two! It is well worth the update guys! I know the kits are not as available as everyone would like, sometimes these things happen! The 08 car is the best car ive driven, and ive raced alot of cars! It is worth the wait!

What wheels are the stock, 08 kit fitted for the 0s1 or 0s2

What are the differences between the handling with the different wheels?

How come a 960-07 needs the rear axle and lever and the 960-08 doesn't to convert to OS2?

I'll end up with a 960-08 with only OS1, so am wanting to check what I need for OS2.

Default 3Racing Ti Turnbuckles

Car is almost finished now. I'll post a few highlights others might find helpful. Found these 3Racing Ti turnbuckles at almost the exactly same length as the Serpent ones (they are slightly thicker than the Serpent but I had no problems). I guess time will tell if the quality is similar as well.

In order for you to convert your 08' 960 OS1 to OS2, all you need is:
1 x 903257 = OS2 rear upright
1 x 903266 = Front Wheel axle
1 x 903267 = Front quick release lever kit
1 x 903268 = Rear wheel axle
1 x 903269 = Rear quick release lever kit

Thats what I thought. I presume they all come in pairs.

Will Serpent be making OS2 wheels or will we have to buy them from other manufacturers? I presume a set of OS1 wheels comes with the kit as a set did with my original 960.

I heard Serpent have a pile of kits ready to ship, except for one part, the rear axle. Apparently ready to go in about 2-3 weeks.
