Anyway I've been running the 960 since it first came out so I don't know exactly what comes with the 07/08 kit in terms of hop-ups. I used Serpent's web site to get an idea but while the site is good it still has issues. For example, look at the list of spares for the 960 '07 then look at the info page for the kit itself. There's a difference (e.g. the chassis is shown in the info page but not on the list of spares, the ventilated battery tray is carbon on the info sheet but plastic on the spares list). Could someone at Serpent sit down for a day and sort out these issues. Web sites are a very important tool for businesses to communicate with their customers. If someone at Serpent wants to send me a 960 '08 with engine + options and I'll gladly maintain your site for 2008.

Does anyone know if following comes with the kit?
Pully Solid Axle 51T V2 #903229
Mono block M21 LCG/Pro #903201

Thanks in advance.

Rob
08' 960? it's not even out yet, how did you get one? regarding the 2 parts that you mentioned, both are not included in the kit.

I'm assembling a list of hop-ups, not the kit. That doesn't show for at least another 3 weeks as far as I know.

Default Plastic vs. Aluminium

On my old 960 I used the the Eccenter Bearing Alu (903160). Has anyone been using the plastic version of the part without issue? On every car I've seen but Serpent, plastic is used. I'm think of dropping this as a future option part and putting the cash into the aluminum X-bracket instead. Feedback please.

Plus, any comments on laydown vs. upright for the throttle servo. Looking at photos of the top Serpent drivers at the Worlds, laydown seems to be the way to go. The Kyosho M3 (i.e. Evolva 2008) is also going laydown as well. I here it helps with centre of gravity. True? Comments welcome!!

The only pro to having the Aluminum eccenters is that the bearing stays more true, by doing so, theoretically you increase top speed. Which it does, but its not like you can feel it, but if you hit it with a radar gun it does go a couple MPH faster.

Ive used the plastic ones for 2 seasons without fail now.

if the x bracket u are talking about is the alu radioplate 902156 that is a must have option. it makes the car much stiffer and handles better.

The 07' model 960 did came with a LCG chassis, the chassis it did not came with is the PRO LCG which is capable of having the Carbon Fibre insert on the front of the chassis.

You're talking about the front carbon insert that helps keep debris from getting into the front belt from the bottom? Is this the only difference between the pro and standard (included) versions of the chassis? Or, is the pro lighter too?

The front carbon insert does not only keep debris from getting to the front belt, it is actually a tuning option, when installed it will stiffen the front section of the chassis, and when removed it gives more flex to the front section of the chassis, resulting in different characteristic handling, and yes it is slightly lighter than the included chassis.
