You can still use the Serpent starter, you just need to pitch the old adapters that don't even work on the Serpent cars anymore and get the univeral adapters for the Serpent starter box. Here's the info for the univeral adapters:

Im just completing the Evolva 2005 and am using some parts from the XR-8. the receiver box (sealed) from the XR-8 fits straight in along with the PT mount and the switch mount. These parts made it really neat and tidy

Cheers

Default Collari Worlds

In case you all missed it, here is Collari's setup at the 2005 worlds. Check out the size of the pinion he uses

Hi

I just tried setting up the evolva and I put on new tyres at the back 79mm Dia. The suspension binds up before the chassis bottoms out. Is there a max tyre dia you can use? It looks like you need 76mm as a max.

Cheers

Check your rear swaybar, sounds like the ballend caps that connect the swaybar sit too high and touch the brake lever when you press the car down. I cut my tires 74 rear and 68 front fresh out of the box.

You might also want to look at the rear bodymount centering pin - may have to elongate the hole in the mounting bracket upwards to allow enough travel for large tires. Excellent car good luck.

The sway bar is not connected and i dissconnected the body mount. It still does it. I will just have to use 76mm tyres

Didn't intend to double post - guess that's the last time I'll use the preview feature! Next place to look is the dogbone pins bottoming in the spool slots - almost forgot about this cause I ground mine very early on to try the car very narrow in the rear.

Notice the different Suspension Holder, 7-3.5in, that Collari uses? I have been told that Kyosho will release these in the next few weeks.

Below are some pictures of my Evolva at the recent 200mm Nitro pre-worlds. They included 8th scale in the program as well.

hey guys, I just got some 2005 parts in and the upper arms appear to be the same lenght and width as the old ones. Also the measurements on the new bulk head are the same as the old. If im using the empire belt tensioner, i dont really need the new bulkheads right? please correct me if im tripping.

I found the problem. The small 3mm grub screw that holds the tyre retaining clip on the wheel pin came off and was in the axle binding up the drive shaft. It came out when I took the rear to pieces

I lowered the shocks and it feels better now

Cheers
