Mugen MTX-3

Looks rather good, a bit MRX-3 inspired methinks...

Oh, I don't remember ;) ;)

Just thought I would spread some good cheer to all those people who have just gone out and purchased an MTX-2!!! :flaming: :flaming: :flaming:

the design looks good, let's see how good it holds up on a track:sneaky:

University Dave,

what do you expect? That they tell you a year in advance; "Don't buy our current car, because we are designing a new one"

Sure, just like the computer industry....

Get real.

The MTX2 will still be VERY competitive when set up right.

If you need every new car that comes out, that's your problem, right?

university_dave 09-02-2002 02:23 AM

Hey, it's no skin off my nose as I sold mine months ago!!!

But you have to admit that if you had just gone out and bought one you would be ever so slightly annoyed... I'm not saying that Mugen have any alternative, just pointing out a small piece of reality.

AMGRacer 09-02-2002 02:30 AM

I think the type of person who has to have the latest gear will be annoyed. Luckily I am not one of those types :D

But if you are a technology chaser then it will always cost ya big. If you are not then you work with the chassis you have and usually do pretty darn well!

Looks good so far. I praise the battery under the tank idea and the longer middle belt....it makes it alot easier on the arrangement of electronics and wiring. Kudos on the receiver box too. I might have to invest in an electronic switch if thats where the switch mount is going to be:D

Hey uni how will you feel when your xr is outdated in a couple of months

stefan 09-02-2002 10:16 AM

go speed

I had the battery under the tank on my MTX2 for a couple of month now. I also have the Kawahara 2-speed, so for me that isn't much new on this car...

You can't tell it from the pics, but I'd guess the suspension geometry is greatly improved. If Mugen took the concepts of the MRX-3 and made them fit a 200mm car, it has to be some improvement. You wouldn't beleive the adjustability and tuning options of the MRX-3.

Also, eventhough I think they probably could've done a little better with the upper deck design, it's still better than the standard MTX-2. I honestly think you'll see a definite difference in the roll center & chassis roll of the car.

And as for the Kawahara 2sp, I'm beginning to doubt it's durability.

Have any of you guys actually seen the MTX3????? If you have, how does the steering linkage look like it will hold up?
