well said, kreidel.

I seriously doubt there is a need for an aftermarket 2speed. The Mugen's 2 speed is great as long as you know how to set it properly.

DO NOT spoil the use on thread lock. Had no idea where you got the idea from, perhaps from HPI?

do you recon i have to put thread lock on the small grub screws or will this ruin the shifting mechanism?

Seems to lose its settings, or only work sporadically.

Cleaned it thoroughly, cleaned the metal cup it fits into, only to get shifts for about a minute, after that, nothing.

Anyone experience anything similar?

Junito: do you have a link? Google didn't get any hits.

I have experienced the same thing. Alot of it has to do with what rjl said in regards to the .5mm gap. I noticed that if i tightened or loosened the screws it would not make much difference. But when i got the gap right, then it shifted better and i could use the screws to change the settings. But it took me about 2 tanks to figure it out so i may need to change shoes since the thread may be stripped. I also noticed that if the gap was to large, even by just a little bit it would not fit into the housing. I have noticed that this two speed is very delicate. I am used to the TC3 two speed.

Speaking of two speeds. My two speed shoes stick out a little bit farther than than housing. they are not completely in the housing. When I installed them they were evenly lined up inside the housing. But after a couple tanks around a local track the shoes are sticking out a little bit. Any ideas?

Maybe too much float on the shaft. Use the side belt pulley to reduce the float, you need a little but not too much.

That's funny, many TC3 use Mugan clutch while some Mtx use their 2 speed.

Make sure you have evenly adjust both shoes out from the center to have diameter you want.

Don't know if you guys see the pattern.

MTX-2, MTX-2 ProSpec
MTX-3, MTX-3 ProSpec
MRX-3, MRX-3 Works
MRX-4

Thus, those who wish to buy the ProSpec, hold on your bucks to your dearly life, as MTX-4 should come out not too long.

Just my big jumbo mumbo quarters!
