Talking 1700-315R & MTX3.... what a blast!

Sunday broke in my new RB 315R... the only words I can say after 1.5 litres about this engine is: what a blast!

Very very quick and powerful, outpowered to the 3 ports that were wearing my track buddies (ugly side and mental note: This black beast blowed the front belt of my car... grrrrr! buy spares).

Much probably on the backflip accident it broke the plastic part (if the part that goes berserk was the carbon fiber a T-bone I pressume).

Grab a set of belts... are cheap and is a pain to pack because you lost power in one axle like happened to me the Sunday. A-arms and bulkheads should be on the list too and pressume that the list ends here, found it a very hard and reliable plastic.

That is not a flaw this happen because of driver error when you drive the car around without a body at high speeds then crash something is bound to break, whats considerd a flaw is when something breaks without any contact with anything.

A flaw is when the car viberates so bad the fuel tank falls out of the car!! Product shall remain nameless! LOL

One thing about Mugen cars is they are TOUGH! I raced an MTX2 for a year and a half and bought less than 200 dollars in spare parts. I have enough spare parts to run it another full season! And take it from me when I run into stuff I get 9 and 10 votes on my score cards.

Nameless product ATE 100 dollars in parts per weekend, parts for it are dirt cheap but it wore parts out fast!! Another Nameless product will cost you 75 bucks if you peel the corner off it good. EVERY TIME! (you guys know which ones I'm talking about)

A mugen might cost you 15, 20 if its bad and flips the bone off in the weeds.

Heres some perspective
The part you need
TO503 rear damper stay $9.25 at Speed Tech

Competitors similar part
Ser 801122 rear damper stay $35.75 at Ashford Hobby and he has the best prices anywhere

Similar size carbon part.
And the other car, we wont even talk about how many parts you would be replacing after a tumble without the lid.

Go away snow I'm ready to go racing again!

I would have to say that that is definatly a "flaw" in the MTX-3.

More like a flaw in judgement.

I personaly wouldnt expect any car to come out of that without damage. But then, the only time I run my car without a body, is the first couple of tanks when I'm running in a new engine, certainly not at any serious speed.

shorty, just take this as a lesson. the car's durability factor goes out the window with no body. so from now on, take the time to put those damn body clips on (....where did i put them.....??) and run the car right. plus, you cant call it practice without the body, it handles completely different

i just wanted to know what parts if any are getting broken so i can get spares

i think the car is quite strong ive broken rims but no front end parts

i broke a rear arm also but that was during a full speed run away accident caused by a bad crystal

the rear bulkhead broke where shock tower attaches? ok i already have a spare set thanks

i think that its bad luck not to have all spares it seems it is always the part you dont have that breaks
