Throttle return spring or rubber band??
Hey guys, I have had a couple of run aways on me at full throttle and have experienced some serious pucker factor that I never want to have again. So, what do u guys use? To me a spring wouldnt be strong enough to pull my Savox 1258 back to neutral but maybe i'm over estimating it's strength.
Thanks for any help!

I'm confused. If it's trying to close the carb, wouldnt it then be pulling on the servo? Can you get a pic of it? I guess I dont understand. Because that is another concern of mine. I dont want my servo to work harder too making it not last as long.
Thanks!

return spring/rubber bands
I use return springs but the rubber band or top of the ballon work great to .Unless you have a reaaly cheap servo it really wont hurt it .Better that then a run away any day ,I have had my share.To make sure either way works to return your servo to idle just turn your radio off or unplug your battery in car and should go to idle.You may need to shorten the spring to get it were you need to be or tighten the rubber bands a bit.Way cheaper then changing parts .Hope this helps,I have never had a servo failure because of this.

I understand what you guys are saying and this would work, yes, if it is the throttle linkage coming part causing the run away but this last weekend I just had the battery come unplugged and that was what caused the loss of power which meant the carburetor was still hooked up to the servo and would require turning the servo too in order to get it to close without power. And we also had another guy have a run away due to his battery just dying. I dont want that either. I understand how the spring and balloon would work if the throttle linkage came unhooked but I dont know how well it will work if it's the battery issues I described. Anybody have a picture of their set up?
Thanks!

much better thank you. So the way you have it rigged up right there doesnt add any stress to the servo? and will also be strong enough to pull back the carb when the power dies even with the servo attached still?
I'm starting to think that giving up just a minimal amount of servo performance might be worth the assurance there there wont be a run away.
thanks again for the help!
