Here is there web site. http://www.rams-rc.com/
They have a good organized club with a huge track. 1/8 and 1/10 run twice a month and 1/5 runs i believe once per month. Good racing and helpful people out there.
There is 1/10 touring at RCCAR (www.rccar.com) on the third sundays of the months. Good nitro and electric racing and helpful people too.

its a 200mm car so you probably run outlaw class out there, but i think you would need to change the engine from the .21 to a .15 or .12 5 port or 7 port. the .21 engines are used only in 1/8 scale racing. go to there website and check the membership link. you will find the car and engine rules there on page 2.
at the rccar club you would need a 3 port .12 size engine.

The car doesn't fit in a particular class. You might be able to run in the "sportsman" open class. But, we'll have to discuss the issue at the drivers meeting on Sunday - this is a points weekend. The final decision will need to be a "club" vote. So, come by (Sunday) and let's discuss.

Re Racing
Many years ago (10 Plus), I remember going to Rams in the South Bay. I remember seeing 1/8 scale onroad cars running and and I asked about racing. Is this still true regarding Nitro.
First of all, I don't have a problem with this if this still the rule.
1. new comers can not run 1/8th scale. This is due to the expense of the cars and no one wants to have to pay for a stupid mistake so, new comers need to start with either 1/10th scale electric.
2. After proving that you can drive, you can move into the 1/10th scale Nitro class. This is to prove you can setup your car/engine and drive.
3. Now, for th big boy toys, you are allowed to race 1/8th scale in a trial type class. Again, to make sure you can drive and not be a danger to other drivers and yourself.
Is this possibly true?
Thanks

Not sure why you brought up an 8 year old thread. RAMS doesn't even run 1/10 or 1/8 nitro any more. Its been dead for a long time! I think they only run 1/5th now.

Gone?????
This is what I get for sleeping under a rock..
Gone Huh. The website is still up. http://www.rams-rc.com/
The schedule is as of This year and a point series race is listed.
Is this a recent development??
Thanks
Evil
BTW - I did notice no mention of 1/8 scale racing. Could be because I don't know what the classes are called for 1/8th scale onroad.

RAMS races 1/5th scale 2-stroke gas cars. There is no more nitro
The site is now Mission College in Santa Clara. The three classes raced are STC/GT (sedan/GT cars), Formula 1 & Autocross (HPI Baja)
