essentially the 2005 v5 has new bulkheads for the front, new front top arms, front top arm hingepins, caster clips from a mugen mrx4, servo saver assembly pieces, i.e., the tube, spring preload adjuster, servo pipe, 6x10 unflanged bearings for servo saver tube, front bodymount, new chassis and radiotray, steering servo mount holder pieces, these are from the mugen mrx4 also so you might find these locally and save yourself some money.
the fuel tank that this kit uses is from a serpent 950r, dont know if it will come with this, but we are looking for possible alternatives to that in case of availibility problems with getting serpent fuel tanks.
the newer cars have the new rear downstops and new rear swaybar so if your kit does not have this you will benefit from having it. the car has significantly more rear grip with the newer swaybar setup than the older one that attached to the 2 lower rear arms from the backside
stay posted i will have more pics uploaded tonight, there are a few other pieces of intrest that i will post on here tonight as well

hello suntok2
if the pictures of the slide on your website are what you have than you already have most of the new rear end. there is actually a new downstop on the newer cars.
i will take pictures later this evening once i have completed putting the new kit together

hello r40victim
actually the bulkheads are very different in the way the mount to the chassis and the radioplate.
while many things "look" the same, believe me they are very different.

this is a mugen mtx3 reciever cover that works perfectly to protect
notice the electric car pinion for the brake adjuster and the end of the brake rod

reciever wire clearance behind cover
as you can see there is sufficent room to have the wires exiting the reciever

transponder mount holder
a closeup of how clean everything can be ran and the transponder mount is held in place from a mtx3 transponder mount holder that also came with the recieved cover
i dont know the part number for this bag off hand, but i used these parts right off of our wall at the shop so it is readily available for all to do the same

optional aluminum clutchbell
this is a closeup of the aluminum clutchbell that is available from smp.
this is not an orignal equipped piece, slide offers it as an aftermarket piece.
4 grams is all it weighs, this is less the thread on gears obviosly

newer style rear swaybar and droop setting screws
from this picture you can see the newer style rear swaybar and the droop screws and holders.
the 5x10 steel screw in the droop setting aluminum holders is something i picked up at orchard supply hardware, the stock ones they provide with the kit are plastic and prone to stripping, this is a definite replacement in my opinion

conical washers
i have used the serpent conical washers on the kit for a few years now. it does take some modifying to the existing plastic washers that come with the kit as axle spacers, but it is a very doable thing and the conical washers give you the added peace of mind that you will not strip out the backside of the rims
#41
front end w/conical washers
as you can see the conical washers from serpent, ser909228 i think is the part number, you can get these to fit with careful filing or sanding down of the stock plastic washers that go behind the drive axle pin

pipe mount wire
here is an extreme closeup of the pipemount wire that comes in the kit.
this helps to save the pipe in light crashes or contact

rear swaybar mounting location and serpent rear dogbones
as you can see i also use the serpent short rear dogbones they offer, they fit with some careful fuel tubing inserts put in the side of the wheel axle to keep it from sliding over too far in the axle under driving conditions

good to see they went to a more conventional hinge pin setup.
those inner pivot balls that the suspension arms rode on are a weak point, i pitte for two seasons with a dude who ran that car and those were always a weak point!
Other than that, the car was a jewel.
did they do away with the prismatic cell receiver packs?
