Rear exhaust Pipe question

I've done searches for Rear Exhaust and i didn't get what i was looking for. I'm wondering if there is an exhaust system for 1/10 gas cars that lets the smoke exit from the rear of the car instead of the side. If any of you know, please tell me: What car, and what company makes the pipe?

I'm pretty sure that the performance of the car would be hindered by this system, but I'm not going to be racing with it. just casual driving.

thanks guys

hey Kevbot,
Try the Tamiya Model: NDF-01 Nitro thunder.
it has a exhaust system that lets the smoke exit from the rear of the car instead of the side. Also 1/10 scale.I just saw it in the radio control Magazine March 2005 issue Page 83 tbe exact. :sneaky: :sneaky: :sneaky:

You will find a lot of older belt cars with side exhaust "engines" had the exhaust out the rear with the option of a tuned pipe. Pure 10 spider, spider MKII, some of the HPI cars are a few.

Point the stinger up. Get some tubing and put it around the stinger, run it to the rear....tada. Rear exhaust exit.

But im not sure how well the exhaust will perform afterwards. Im sure it wouldnt be any worse than those crap systems your looking for.

Normally they have no tuned pipe, just an exhaust chamber.

But if you must.

HPI Super Nitro Exhaust. If at least your exhaust faces that way, if not go with the routing method it will perform better anyway.

Well, having the rear exhaust is cool. But, if your still looking for horsepower, then you need to find an exhaust that is tuned to that engine. Unlike 4 stroke engines, 2 stroke engines need to have a certain shape to the pipe, to help create horsepower. Stinger length, stinger size, how the chamber is shaped all effects the 2 stroke engine.

If all your looking for is the cool factor, and don't mind loosing some HP, you'll find something that will work. But if speed, and or acceleration is a must, you need to stick with a tuned pipe.

Hope this info is helpful.
