Default 977 Viper WC Rear Drive Shafts (dogbones)

Finished with my 977 WC assembly and I noticed that the rear drive shafts do NOT sit deep into the rear solid axle. Here is the pic. Following the assembly instructions, the dogbones are sitting at the very tip. How do I shim them in?

I wondered about the same thing on mine. Its actually not a problem the way it is. If it bothers you just put some fuel line in the shaft.

That's normal. Don't worry.

It's referring to the stiffener between the rear bearing blocks and the 2 speed shaft bearing brackets. You have a choice between full stiff (alu) half stiff (rubber) not stiff (no connector). You have to buy the connectors as they don't come with the kit. Well not in my kit (pre-wc).

I also had a great weekend with the car at the SWCS event. TQ'd first and second round and was on a 18lap run in the third but ran out of gas, had fast lap of the day on saturday. track temps were 148 degrees!!! even though i had the exact same setup as i had when i won the BIGGIE last month it was a bit of a handfull. i played with the rear camber link, lowered the roll center and didnt like that so i went up.5mm from stock moved caster back 2mm, and increased rear droop by 1/4 turn and got the balance back! results were almost 1/2 second quicker than the winner ( had a rookie pit guy) so in a nutshell i got flipped backwards on the start, had to pit for a retune and ran out of gas! still managed to reel myself back up to second place. my 20lap avg was FAST! I gotta say the TOP engine was FANTASTIC!! highest top speed and monster infield power. Came off at 217

yes, this body does not come with a Gurney flap

Not sure how many of you are into Formula one but look at the trailing edge of the maclarens rear main element! its supposed to increase rear downforce without the extra drag. i will machine one out of carbon before my next outing.

Wings or gurneys made out of anything other than lexan are banned. At least here in the UK anyway....
