As the same as an original 966 mostly the same - as a 966V2 TE almost all the same - the 6x13 are not used any more.

Default Solution to a minor issue that maybe only bothered me

Not really a problem but an aggravation , it seemed like every time I'd take off the shift hub the dowel pin would be pointing vertical and inevitably end up on the ground , my solution was to cut a 1/2" length of fuel tubing and split it lengthwise and remove about 25% of the strip width and then insert it into the hole in the end of the layshaft so that it puts pressure on the drive pin - no more chasing that stupid 14mm dowel around the ground

Nice solution.

My solution, is putting the car on it's side before removing the 2nd gear assembly.

Hi all!

I'm having a problem with the transmission. It has happened twice now, both times I only got in around 25 laps. Kinda irritating when I live far away from the track...

The E-Clip that holds the 1st and 2nd gear pops off and the 1st gear flies off the shaft, both times under hard acceleration onto the stretch.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance.

Okay, I will try use a 6 mm clip instead of the 5 mm one.

Same as my case. Use NT1 E clip, it fits and wider

No, the shaft is 8mm shaft, suppose using 7mm E clip. But 977 using 6mm clip. 5mm is too tight and hold for 1 lap will fell off again.

First thing I'd look at is whether you have some end play in the assembly .2mm to .3mm should work , tight here is not good ! , 2nd is there any chance that the 1st gear one way is working it's way out and creating unusual force on the clip (outside should be flush with the housing) , after checking those items you might investigate a snap ring that you apply with a tool and if you're still having issues try a new shaft.

It's a bit strange, cause in my manual it says part # 110303. If I'm not wrong that is a 5 mm one...

I have ordered both 6 and 7 mm now, hopefully one of them will fit correctly.

One of the things to keep in mind about E clips is that are made from a stamping process. This will result in one side of the clip having a rounded radiused edge and the other side having a sharp straight 90 degree edge. Most clip grooves are cut with a radius in the lower corners creating a kind of modified U shape. It is always advisable to install any E clip with the sharp edge to the outside of any axial thrust........that would be to the outside of the car in the case of the Viper. Having the radius edge to the outside can possibly cause the clip to ramp up the clip groove radius under thrust loads and come off. To tell which edge of a clip is radiused or not, simply rake each edge at a 45 degree angle on your thumbnail. The edge that scrapes up nail is the sharp edge.

#110303 is put in the 1st batch of kits, but now the car should come with #110306, which is also updated in the V2 manual.
