Default What GT motor for speed month?

Very interested in attending one or both of the GT races but have a question regarding the $280 street price motor limit for the Grand Prix event. What would GT racers that race at homestead recommend to adhere to that rule? Its a little hard to place a realistic $$ limit on a motor. Many factors lead to the price of a motor end of season clearance can net you a $550 motor for $389 it happened to me. A little clarity would go a long way especially coming from up north to play for a weekend. I'm assuming there is no motor limit for the Novarossi race. I have seen the price of the OS motor increase due to availability and demand and any motor can be found cheaper if you dont factor in shipping from ( _______)

Yeah, this is a never ending battle..... Events that want to continue to limit price only.....but not performance. The only class in all of RC that tries to limit something by price and not performance. They are trying to make it competitive for everyone or affordable for everyone? Neither of which will happen.
Maybe they should just give you a list of what is allowed....lol. Oh and by the way, I can bet you money there won't be anyone teching the motors to make sure they were not modid either.....unless of course someone is way faster then they will want to check it. But you are suppose to have an original of all motors allowed to compare for modid motors? What a joke.....
