Tho the stock chassis feels like paper by itself, the car's overall stiffness actually feels pretty well (to me) with the components bolted on.

I will also have some new 3mm (6061 T6 aluminium, very very strong) chassis done by early next week for sale. I am also working on some Titanium alloy chassis also. I will will have 5 colors to choose from. Blue, Purple, Orange, Green and polished aluminium.

This will solve a lot of the flex problem on the Mtx-4.
I can't tell you where to get 25t pulleys.

I want to know what the reason for the 3mm 6061 chassis is. The stock chassis is a 3mm 7075 aluminum chassis. I wasn't aware there was a problem with chassis flex on the MTX4. The chassis by itself isn't super rigid, but with the car assembled it is quite stiff.

Just a flash thru my head, maybe one purpose for the flex in the stock chassis, aside from something to do with handling, is to provide some absorbtion during hard impact so reducing the % of breakage to other parts.

Yeah.... I agree with you scott. I think the stock 3mm chassis is already stiff ( in my case I'm using longer screws everywhere it fits ).

Having titanium 4mm chassis will be over kill .

chassis flex?

the car feels pretty good to me so i don't know if there is flex or not. i don't see it as a problem of the mtx-4 at all. the car handles really good. or maybe it's because i'm not in the caliber of a really good worlds driver to feel the flex

but if mugen was to come out with a thicker chassis that is milled out to have the components as low as stock (just like the mtx-3 prospec), i will definitely get it. it will not only stiffen the car but will also add weight to the lowest point of the car. i think i'm gonna need to add weight to be legal after i'm done with my diet program and it would be perfect to have the additional weight down the bottom - which is the chassis

I think no, chassis flexes got something to do with handling and stability. However, chassis flexes increase chance of breakage especially if you are not expert drivers. Can't get stability and strong car at the same time.

My friends who are expert drivers never use 4mm chassis, they always use 3mm chassis for nice handling reason. My newbie friends or crash proof maniacs like me always choose 4mm chassis for strength.

This is what i understand. Chassis flex is a natural occurance and its something we prob wun be able to see or feel it but when the car is moving and turning at such speeds it will flex to compensate for the force. A stiffer 4mm chassis will reduce flex and most prob cause the car to react more to turns.

Is this necessary ? Our nitro cars use two high power servos + one personal transponder.
