I do have a long background to break rear shocktowers on the R40, I did try using double rear shocktowers there (glued two regular ones together) and that didn't make it better.

Let's first see how long the stock one lasts before considering an upgrade...
But one thing kind of annoys me about the rear shocktower anyway, which is the body post position when using a PF Mazda 6.
You're right to a certain extent. The original 710 ones were 2.5mm and flexible
but after I broke the first one, I did what you did and glued two together. Hasn't broken since (nearly 2 years ago and lots of racing).

If you never break, then you're not driving hard enough

Had my first outing with the "4" car today. I havent driven a car in 7 months. My X-12 ran perfectly without ever touching the needles once. 220 degrees with tons of power. Thanks to Dennis Richie at the RD Logics race. I just finished putting the car together last night and I guess I didn't get a couple of set screws tight enough. After the first few small glitches, the car ran great! I was a little worried about how loose the side belt is with the 24t pulley, It never skipped or came off, so I guess it is nothing to worry about. I ran a setup that always was a baseline for the "3" and it worked good. I only had to change a couple little things. Another thing I noticed was that running full sized tires, you cannot run the ride height lower than 5mm because the shocks bottom out. It is almost as if the shock bodies are longer??? I guess I just need to true the tires down and not be lazy. Anyways, I am impressed with the car and how the small changes they mad and how well it works!
