Mainly in crashes, and what can i put on the rubber part that joins the pipe to the manifold part to stop it coming off, cause the zip ties wont hold it on now.
there are 2 things you can do;

1) flare the end of your header slightly.
2) use a bit of silastic on the header and pipe.

Thanks Squizz
Will try that.

Can anyone tell me what a good pistol grip controller is.
I've looked at the Lynx 3d, but its a bit expensive.
Something cheap but good, it must ahve its own rechargeable battery as well

Nitro Joe,
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAHM7&P=7
These were the best value I could find at Towers. But they are spacer type not screw type. The eagle ones you might have Stateside listed as Integy.

V-one s, I got rid of my 3d for $250.00 and bought a Futaba 3pdf for $200.00, Im very happy! Watch ebay ive seen some KO mars/precious go at reasonable prices. It all comes down to what features you want and how much you want to pay for them.
Do you want AM/FM, multi model memory, ABS, etc etc. Tell me what you want and I can make a reccomendation to fall into your price category.
ps you can get a 1650mah pack made for your handset for around $60.00.

Abs, Traction Control, Dual Rate, and a battery with it.(Rechargeable)
And pistol grip.

Reasonable price,
No SERVOS needed, Just controller
Mainly 200$ max round about.
And the digital display is a want with all the low battery warning stuff.

What do you mean flaring the manifold Squizzy?

Anyway, do transmitters have ABS? Woah thats pretty neat.
Also what does traction control, Dual Rate do V1S racer?

Lastly, where do the 5cell hump packs sit with the carbon deck on the V1S? Very curious here.

Flaring is making the end of the pipe bigger in diameter then the actual pipe.

The abs makes the brakes pulse quickly so its on and off the brakes that quickly that u dont notice it.
And traction control is u can push your finger down as quick as u want, but the servo moves slower.
Dual rate works between 2 speeds, so for high speed steering, the front wheels dont turn as quick/far. then at low speed.

Not a hope in hell for $200.00 as any radio with those features is going to be FM so youve also got to buy a new receiver and crystals.

In my opinion, ABS is a wank, traction control also known as ARC or Exponential (also available for steering) is a good thing i use it a lot, stops the car being real twitchy on the straight when you need to pass etc.
You can buy 1800mah aa bateries for around $5-6.00 each.
For $255.00 my 3d went with 600mah rechargables, the receiver 1 x set of crystals and a std aa receiver pack holder.

XGsir I posted photos a few pages back that clearly show the rec pack.

u can also invest in the best thing in the world called a j coupler

it is about 3 times longer and just fits perfect it has 3 grooves for the zip ties and has a slight cuve at the end so it fit right

The same as the 3D but 3 model memory and no ABS.

Brett, they are good but ive seen newbies destroy them at a rate of 1 per heat, the thin slicone jusy doesnt seem real resilient and I think theyre pretty expensive arent they, i dont know ive never used them. Oh did I mention the kinky pipes gone, replaced with a toothless tiger header.

If you haven't tried a Pistol grip yet, then i recommended it.
I remember i first thought only Stick type was good, then the Pistol grip totally changed my mind. Its awesome.

I got a Futaba 2PHKA.
In the picture to the left is the one i own.

Also you sure u posted the a picture where the rec pack sits with the carbon plate? I searched but can't find it.
