Default Which tires for parking lot racing?

Going to be getting a Nitro TC for parking lot racing. What tires do you guys run for typical Southern Cal parking lot races for foam and rubber. What width, compound, etc.? Get me close and I can go from there. Thanks. Also, please let me know what is Roar legal and illegal.

I really like the HPI X Pattern Pro Compound 26mm tires.

Super Sticky.

Around here for rubber 24mm Sorex 26r's with HPI green inserts are what I use. More people are starting to use foam tires as well. It all depends exactly where you are going to be racing and which car you have. You might try posting in some of the racing threads for the local area. Try the O.C. Circut and RC Heat threads for parking lot. There is also Revelation Raceway, Marvin's and Chrystal Park for permanent tracks. There's racing almost every weekend.

Thanks, I'm pretty familiar with Sorex tires, and the fact that I might not have to use different tires for my Nitro is a nice option. I'm going to be racing a Yokomo GT4. I race at the RC Heat races, La Mirada, Hobby Central and Hobby Town in San Diego. What foams do guys run? Also, do guys usually use Paragon with them too?
Domo:
Aren't the x-patterns more of a recreational tire or for unprepared surfaces? Seems like they wouldn't be optimum compared to a sticky slick with paragon, etc.

Aren't 36r a little hard? Maybe when the surface gets hot in summer, but otherwise 32r or 28r?

What about the back end too? Do you go up to 26mm?

The only time the 36r's don't work is when its too cold, then I use paragon. The pavement rarely is under 96 degrees, which the 36r's are rated for. I use 24mm all around too.

Will the 30mm fit in a Yokomo GT4 and are they legal (ROAR)?

For local parking lot racing, its pretty much run what you brung. Motors, tires, body, pretty much anything goes. Running a lola body might get a little iffy if you want to run in the pro nitro class.

As for the foams, I don't have any good experiances running them at La Mirada. I have heard that people have been using them there and at Corona. That's why I suggested you ask in those threads. The others there may be able to point you in the right direction.

Come out to an RC HEAT race at either Norco or Castle Park. I run foam 37 shore front and rear. Lots of traction and loads of fun.
