I just picked up a gt2 nitro I believe it's stock motor and 2 shoe clutch , thing is everytime I get it started just wants to go and if I lower throttle or hit brake cuts out .. I checked clutch seems alright . Since I'm assuming its ALLREADY been broken in as I bought it used can I just set all needles back to default and start from there otherwise I'm stuck and my arm hurting from all the pulling lol btw its the Audi Dtm gt2

Dear GT guy......refer to my post #940 for axle help. Your choice is the 'better' position than 'dogbone' and 'drive cup' but not the 'LIGHTWEIGHT' version that will bring best performance. Those axles do provide better results on the one end of your drivetrain.

I have a car with those!!

Jerry, thanks a bunch.
I went ahead and ordered the light version.
Kyosho Light Weight Front Universal Swing Shaft (90.7mm) (KYOIFW333)
I was only going to upgrade the 4 corners, not at the differentials.

Re-check the clutch shoe spring. If it was from an older RTR kit, it has two big clutch shoes with a spring down the middle. What happens sometimes is that the spring that holds the two shoes breaks at the clasp eyelets and will not hold the shoes together. Or, it could be that the spring is in a way that keeps the shoes engaged and as soon as the brakes are hit, it stalls the engine. I have had both of these issues happen to me before I changed it to the three-shoe offroad clutch from the Kyosho 777/MP7.5. You also might want to eventually want to invest in a starter box (cuts down on tired arm and finger blisters from excessive pull starting).

Need help with 2 speed settings. How many turns out is a good place to start. I can't tell if it isn't shifting or if it is already stuck in second. Lol. Hopefully it's not shifting because it looks way too slow for a novarossi in second.

See my post #996. You also might want to check your idle, it could be too high. Your engine should purr like a cat, not rev like a lawnmower or chainsaw with the choke on (which would be high and fast enough to engage the clutch).

need to know if you have the new tranny or the old Trans. the old to speed is like a little hook that comes out. It can eat up the plastic inside the gear. so if you see a silver drum in between the spur gear it is a new clutch shoe transmission . Besure your engine is broken in for proper shifting in the trans. Good luck

I use a different brand of shock oil. It's best used by the temperature that you're running iin warmer you want thicker colder you want lighter.

I have the new shoe style transmission. Are there supposed to be set screws in the clutch shoes to hold the little cams down?

Yes you should use the set screws in the 2 speed clutch, just keep them equal. If you don't use them your shift will chatter.
