The GT, sometimes called the GT1, is a short wheelbase car with Kyosho's original crappy paw type transmission. These transmission are noted for stripping 2nd gear very frequently.

The GT2 is the newer car that is longer wheelbase and it has the shoe type of 2 speed. This transmission is very reliable.

I have had both cars and I personally like the handling of the GT2 better. The longer wheelbase made the transition from on to off and back on throttle easier for me due to less forward and backward weight transfer.

Assuming here.... From looking above both cars side by side dead ringer would be the rear center drive shaft the Gt2 would be longer the GT1 and the noticeable linger chassis.

GT1 would be closer in size to a buggy and Gt2 closer to truggy length.

I am sure some of the Kyosho experts in here can give you the most accurate info on this. Either way the Kyosho is the God father of GT/GT8 racing it a solid car and can be very competitive. I know a few that are and wanting to convert the newest Kyosho buggy in a GT.

L.R.P. Will be coming out with some option parts for the Kyosho GTs this next year. So be on the look out.

These seem to work the best...I think from the factory the front is 80k...I got 8 and 9 from Steve Ponds the threadstarter and Kyosho USA Director...cant ask for better advice from him...he knows Kyosho inside out : )

Car drove much better after doing 8 and 9 !

Good list of 'upgrades'..............to your list I would add a 'splash guard' to keep fuel off of your brakes. Kyosho has a couple available but I have also made my own. Fuel on your brake pads during a pit shop is not an enjoyable thing.

Exclamation Need info

Someone could help on these?

I've been thinking to custom mod a 2 speed transmission and would like to seek your help for some measurement below:
1. length of the 2 speed shaft (part no. KYOIGW008-01)
2. diameter of the 2 speed shaft
3. outer length of shaft measure from drive cups end to end (measurement A of pix)
4. inner length of shaft measure from bearing to bearing (measurement B of pix)
5. Thickness of bearing

I appreciate very much if you could help me out on these measurement. TIA
