Front spool for V One RR (Double R) Evo
 

I have a V One RR Evo that still runs good for me in parking lot races. I would like to put a front spool on it but at the time when the kit was made, front spools weren't in fashion yet.

Looking at the parts list for the V-One-RREvo vs. V-One-RRR, I noticed that they both use the same front bulkheads and front arms. Please note that the V-One-RREvo has a narrower front bulkhead than the original V-One-R.

Anyways, I noticed that there is a spool available for the V-One-RRR. Just want to make sure if it will fit (widthwise) on the V-One-RREvo. Does anyone know for sure?

As best I can determine, Looks like the RRR spool is .2 mm narrower than the RR Oneway where the bearings fit. Your biggest obstacle is probably the Diameter difference of the two drive sprockets, (the RR being larger) by that I mean the inside bore that centers the sprokets is 1.7 mm larger for the RR over the RRR's.

Could prove easier to find a dependable way to Lock the RR's Oneway out drives to make a spool out of it. :nod:

I know that somebody managed to do that to the Spada's Oneway, (I've considered trying this on my car). :tire:

Are you talking about the RR or the RR Evo? The RR Evo has a narrower front end than the RR.

If you are talking about the Evo, then all I need is to know if the RRR sprocket has the same sized bolt pattern as the RR Evo. Would you know or can provide a pic comparing the two to tell?

Sorry,I'm refering to the RR Evo. The RRR spool would fit in the RR Evo's Bulkheads with .2 mm of side play to account for. As I previously stated but didn't sufficiently clarify is, the RRR's 27 tooth sprocket is 1.7 mm smaller in inside ID bore and the screw attachment flange pattern is also smaller than the RR Evo's sprocket.

So, you would have an issue fitting (centering) and attaching the RR Evo sprocket to the RRR spool.

Maybe, I'll go with the RRR front sprocket but find a smaller cog on the idler pulley to compensate for the size difference. I'll see what I can find.

Would a KFactory one fit for a G4 with the similarities to the Kyosho?

Thanks for your suggestion but I already know it doesn't. I have a Kawahara spool that works for the G4 which is actually for the original V One. Unless the newer G4s like the G4RS 09 is narrower maybe......

However, I am also working on putting together a G4 with that Kawahara spool. The tricky thing with the G4 is always about how to place the electronics. I'll post on your G4 thread when I get it done.:)

Okay, after fishing around on the Internet, I found that the diff gears for the RRR is the same for the rest of the V One series. Although not sure about the new R4. Anyways that means I can use this:

So for anyone else's reference, the above part can be used in any of the V One series up to RRR to convert from diff to solid axle.
