MRX4 Brushless Conversion !
Hey All
I have just bought a 2nd hand MRX4, but it has no engine, clutch, exhaust, etc etc
I was thinking of getting the Serpent 960 Brushless conversion mount ??
What do you think of this : HOBBYWING XERUN Sensored 4168SD Motor + 150A ESC + LCD Card EC104I have a friend when i was flying fixed wing, he would swear by Hobby wing, and nothinh else, he even removed a Scorpion Esc on his large Slick and fitted a Hobbwing ESC.
Any ideas, and what do you think of the idea ???

If this is now the same MRX and you're thinking which kind of power-equipment to put in, I would say nitro it is.
It seemed that you have quite low budget to this project. I have also calculated the costs to run 1/8 IC electric and at least the starting cost is higher.
Also, all the 1/8 e-gear is meant for buggy type racing and there has been problems (read burned devices) when people have tried them on real onroad applications. But the choise is yours and you decide.

We have had amazing sucsess with our E-mugens finaly setteling on 6S batteries 5200mha and the Tekin RX-8 with either 1550 or 1700KV motors.... higher KV ratings motors were only working on the lower 4s configuration but run time was to low and tempetures were way to high... the above 6s combination lowered the temps of both motor and speedo, and provide about 7 min runtime, and are absolutley blistering fast.....
