Default bump box not turning engine.

hey all, i'm trying to start an older serpent on-road car w/my new but used bump starter. i have a brand new, freshly charged 12v (8amp) battery in the starter, and the motor seems strong(i "can't" stop it from spinning w/my hand while it's running). the rubber starter wheel just rubs the flywheel, not turning it. i can turn the flywheel by hand fairly easy.
do i need to have the flywheel set further back on the rubber starter wheel? any suggestions?

Is your flywheel on the very top of your bump stater wheel?

You have to adjust the actuating starter switch. It should start before it comes in contact with the rubber starter wheel.
