Default fw-05r - centax clutch questions

hello

just finish my fw-05r special chassis kit and thought id give it a start

im using a OS Max TR with slight mods to the liner.

the car fired up straight away but then i noticed a few things..

1. Took a bit of rev to get the clutch to engage and spin the wheels

2. after revving it a couple of times i noticed the engine would return to idle really slow after revving

do these sound like clutch adjustments?

how should the centax be adjusted/set ? At the moment its set to the books default

thanks heaps
john

From this I assume you had no load on the motor, it is normal to have a very high idle if you rev out the engine with no load. You could also have too large an idle air gap and be too rich on the bottom end. Allowing the motor to build revs before the clutch engages is how you get horsepower to the wheels and is the way modern clutches are designed, torque plus rpms give you the horses. Can you just dump the clutch on a F1 car off the line?
