Default What should I pay for a Nitro 4tec?

I have been out of the hobby for about 10 years, and am looking to get back into it.

I am building a top of the line TLR 22 buggy for racing, but am looking for a car just to play with in the neighborhood.

A buddy of mine has a Traxxas Nitro 4Tec with the 2.2 engne for sale. It hasnt been ran much, but has also probably not been very well maintained. He os not an R/C enthusiast, and he bought the RTR kit just to use as a toy. He says its ready to go, but it hasnt been ran since last summer, so I am assuming it will need some minor tuning at the least. It is completely stock, has everything that came with the RTR kit. It also has the smaller 2.5 motor. Couple questions,

How fast will this go in stock form?

Is this thing worth modifying for racing, or should I keep it in stock form as just a beater car to play with?

Anything that will need to be done after sitting for so long?

What should I pay for this car?

He is asking $200, im thinking $125 sounds about right

considering he mentioned smaller 2.5 later on. im guessing he meant 3.3

i have seen plenty of 4tec videos easily doing 60mph. 70+ isnt out of reach either with some gearing work.

As far as pricing, if it starts i would offer $150. $125 if not.
