Theoretically, as long as the internal diameter of the extension is larger then the stinger exit internal diameter. The amount of effect will be very low if at all.

As most use the silicone/ rubber exhaust deflectors that are available, these slide over the OD of the stinger so should not be a problem.

I've heard the GT 3.0 is almost ready. I think we will hear something official soon guys. I'm expecting new 2sp (think 977evo) and some revisions to the suspension/shock geometry. I think most of the plastics and drivetrain will remain the same however which is good for me as I have plenty of spares!! That would also mean a relatively straightforward update to those with 2.0 chassis.

You would hope that they would include some of the necessary zero degree steering options, brake pads/disks, shock tops and perhaps some easy access diffs. The current two speed works fine. I'm sure if Serpent asked some drivers they would look at other options than the two speed, but given the 977 has changed spurs and pinions this would be an easy upgrade for them.

The current 2sp jumps around between 1st and 2nd sometimes in sweeper style corners and it doesn't stay in 2nd when it should do which is the same issue we had with the 977 gearbox. The evo gearbox is so much better and will be on the GT. I think we will also see certain current required upgrades standard in the kit including the 0 degree caster blocks and centre diff brackets in Alu. I don't think you'll see pro brakes as standard though. Think what they did with the cobra buggy that ended up having the Alu 14 degree caster blocks as standard etc...

Goodo..... the alloy 2sp bulkheads are a noce option but I've been running the plastic ones for over 12 months now with now issues. I hope they include both the zero degree steeeing blocks and C hubs because that is what makes the car all that much better to drive.

Bit unusual including parts as standard when it's a known fact they will have to be changed.

I know that the o degree steering blocks won't be included but maybe plastic 0 degree steering blocks instead (again thinking on what they did with the 2.1/2.2 buggy). They've got to leave some options as options! Don't worry what needs to change and be included will be. The car will be awesome If you search around pictures of poalo morganti's car over the last year you'll see most of the expected changes being tested.

Also this year I think it'll be a small but important update and next year (2017) we will see a completely new car based on the expected totally new 811 buggy which is due mid year I think.

I been waiting on. New kit since 2014 fall but was told the kit was doing so well it will be a surprise if they did a new version of the Gt. So Dan are you saying a new Gt kit is coming this year or 2017?

The amount of castor (c-hub) to run is a personal choice. At the PanAm race, Desoto Jr (TQ, 2nd) ran 10 deg c-hubs (600303) and Paolo (1st) and Martello (3rd) ran the new 6 deg (600704). Serpent has 0-16 deg c-hubs and its possible to setup your car with all of them. Common new parts run on all 3 cars:

600699
600700
600701
600702
600703

They are all available now and in stock.

Im just speculating! I have no hard facts of course. I just have run Serpent for 20 years and get to know the product cycles... I'm just saying what I'm expecting to see. The Cobra GT is an incredibly good car as it stands and with the season right around the corner I doubt a complete new car this year just some modifications to the existing platform. Hopefully we will see the new parts soon.

There is also a new 811 buggy platform in the works which isn't a secret. So hence my belief that the totally new 811 buggy will release before the completely new GT early 2017 (or maybe very late 2016).

Me too. Looks good. Some of the items are in stock at Desoto already! P/N's are basically 600699 onwards. So search 600699, 600700, 600701 etc....

As I've seen the changes are:
SLi8 Gearbox from 977evo
Front and rear centre driveshafts changed to dogbones (no longer CVDs)
Front and Rear new shock towers
Front lower arm pin alu suspension mounts new
6 degree alu C hub as standard (standard plastic steering blocks)
New alu gearbox centre holders (standard fibreglass brake disks)
Front and Rear lower shock mount extensions (shocks mounted more outside)

There might be more but thats what I can see now. All the plastics, diffs, axles, driveshafts etc remain the same as the current version.
