The car was always coming just they had other priorities for production of other new kits like the 988 and the SRX8 EVO.

Default Some new stuff!

NEW PRODUCTS FOR THE SERPENT COBRA 3.1!
Flex is your friend! We have come up with a perfect design that allows more flex to the front of the car. The will give you more front end grip and increase steering response mid turn. Machined from billet Delrin, not a molded plastic part.

New piston design specifically for the 3.1 shock geometry. We found that 6 hole pistons even with light oils were too lethargic. So we went with 8 holes but also incorporates our Venturi effect design thatís been proven in off-road racing. By laying the shocks down you lose transition response so our new design brings it back giving you the response of the 3.0 but corner speed of the new 3.1!

Hey guys just putting some new servos to my cobra GT. just wondering- anybody got some photos of how they've looped/secured/wired their wiring from servos and transponder through the radio tray from servos to the receiver box? Just wondering if there's any general consensus on best methods.

Also- what methods are you all using for the power switch on receiver box? An actual switch like the original? Or something else? Want some ideas for faster charging methods and simpler, instead of needing to remove the entire top tray of the receiver & battery box. But don't want to upset battery or wiring by leaving it exposed. Ps it's a Lipo HV receiver battery.

I double tape the throttle servo wire to the back of the case and then run it to the transponder which is mounted in the standard position. Pick up the transponder wire and steering servo wires and run them to the Rx box. I use a standard mechanical switch mounted in the standard position. I've never had an issue with a mechanical switch in 3 seasons!
Regarding the battery. I use a 2400mah LIPO and can run a full race day (so 20 minutes practice, 4x 7 min quali runs and a 30 minute final without charging). Even a 2 hour practice session/engine run in day I have no issues without charging so I don't worry about having to take off the Rx box top to charge.

Hi guys I was going to upgrade my throttle / brake servo horn to the aluminium. Apparently the longer aluminium horn is now discontinued? Is there a reason for this? Does everybody just run plastic for throttle / brake? Let me know what's best to run as I've just upgraded servos and keen to set it up right away.

It isn't discontinued and remains an option on the v3.1 car. Who told you that it is discontinued? By the way I used the stock plastic arm for quite a while and never had an issue with it but upgraded to the alu when I built a new 3.0 at the start of last season.

Desoto have them in stock:

Serpent Australia, was there in person. They even showed me on their computer screen that it's discontinued. PN 600295 for 25tooth. They said it's cos the stiffness of the Alu horn would kill servos but the flex in plastic wouldn't, hence why it's discontinued. Dunno if that's correct or not. But he definitely couldn't order it in.

Hmmmm I'm not sure it's true. It's certainly not true about the stiffness vs plastic as a reason why they are saying discontinued. Goto the Serpent main Facebook page and send them a PM they do respond well usually. My information is that it isn't discontinued and available.

What's your take Dan- is it harder on servos the alu or will I be fine. Many other shops have the part but will email serpent anyway.

I've used the a hudy alu horn for a year and I doubt the reason for discontinuing the Serpent alu horn has to do with stiffness reasons. Sometimes items get discontinued as there are multiple options to fullfill your needs. This is the case with many items and with many manufacturers. It's a trade off for them to offer a complete assortiment of items to run your car on one hand and on the other hand minimize operational costs. Keeping every item available is an indirect cost component just for the purpose of having it. Very understandable they discontinue items in order to keep the prices of other items low engough and stay in business.

That’s interesting because the 23T and 24T aren’t discontinued! Perhaps serpent think everyone uses Sanwa servos lol.

Nope. Alu is fine. That claim is unfounded. Granted there is nothing wrong with the plastic throttle/brake horn but the Alu one isnít any harder on the servo.

Contacted serpent directly- lack of demand. I would assume eventually the 23 and 24 tooth versions will disappear too. I'll just buy online from a shop with stocks. Found a few.
