Not too shabby yourself , I wish someone would have had that on video! Funny thing is that on the way home he told me "Dad i think i get it now, its either inside out or outside in" That was the best he has ever driven, he drives better with power.....like me!

Man I had a good time at this track! Congrats to Marcus Cole and Aaron for some good racing. Saw some crazy end of race changes this weekend which made for some good racing action. For those of you who haven't raced at this track you should go! My first time there and its a super fun track. Looking forward to the next race at RCRCNT.

Hey all ....

I have a question about the Alpha GT8 tires.
Does anyone have or know where we can get hold of a tire chart?

I noticed there are a large number now of different compounds and I wanted to know what's the order in shore/ hardness?
Looking them up I noticed there are now several Alpha Qualifier tires to be had ...... "Qual 3 .... Qual 5 and Qual 6 ??"
Also "Soft .... super soft and medium too?"

You guys have any info' on these?

Regards
BM

How's it going mate,

The Q Compond tires are typically used for qualifiers only as they are designed for quick heat up and maximum Traction."Not Longevity"
The lower the number the softer the rubber. Q3-Q6

The Regular compounds Super Soft, Soft, Medium and Hard are designed for balance of Traction and Longevity and typically used for the mains. With type of tire name being self explained.

As for a temp chart to shore tire, I saw one a few years ago. But not sure how accurate it would be. I have ran SuperSoft from the coldest temps to the Hottest temps, and they performed awesome.

I also witnessed Paolo use Q3 tires for a 30min main, so not sure how to gauge it

No no no...you got it all wrong Tony. See its like this. You use the Q1 tires for your first qualifier. If you weren't fast enough then you switch to the Q2 tires for the second qualifier. And if that still wasn't fast enough then you use the Q3 tires for your last chance qualifier.

LOL

British, with the TeamC car you can get away with supersoft tires. We do not have kicked chassis so tire wear is not an issue, with that being said personally i use soft everywhere and in all temps as do most others. The supersoft tires will get "greasy" after about 10min or so in most conditions but not all!

Yeah ... not bad mate. Hows your belly for spots and your nose for blackheads .... all good?
In other words .... hows yourself doing .lol
Thanks for the info' Tony and Marcus.

I did manage to try the Q6, Softs and the mediums over the weekend.
The Q6's really did hold up well considering what you said on the longevity thing.
But possibly due to the very mild set-up on the car I was not able to disern alot of difference between them. Hence the question.
It may well be my lack or loss of sensitivity on driving the car that was the reason for not being able to recognize any difference

Looks as though we will be meeting up at the Byrons race in June Tony and Marcus.

Regards
BM

I might try to make it there... :-) But I don't see myself as a snake skinner lol. I just try to reach the best performance and have fun at the same time :-D
Other than Sepent and TeamC I think there will be some kyosho, OFNA, a tekno and probably other brands of GTs too...
