LOL. I do that all day long, always forgetting something! THe Braces are available in std and ultra light , both are made of a G10 blend. I hope to test the FF block this weekend.

Default Foam tyres for GT8

Hi guys,
This forum has been great. I just finished building my gt8 and this forum helped allot. I was wondering if any one has tried different brands /shores of foam tyres? Any advice will be much appreciated. I know allot of guys run Rubber tyres but the guys in Australianare developing the rules for Gt allowing foam tyres. Here is a pic of my car just finished fresh and ready for the track. Engine is murnan mod picco torque 21, Gt8 has been fitted with carbon suspension arm braces, aluminium brake/ gearbox mount, metal brake upgrade,
And team c foam tyres (240 grams lighter than team c rubber tyre set)

Foam is not allowed here in the US and i have never even seen one run with them. I think you guys are the only ones that run foam!

There are two maclaren replicas. new version is for long and the old MAclaren F1 fits short

Old style (short)

new style (long only)

when i order direct from the factory the kits come with the older mac body but with this HRP thing going on I have no idea what they will get.

Thanks Darren,
I will definitely be running this at Christmas challenge and all next year at Moorebank. I can strongly recommend the os engines speed 21 on road XZR- 21
$380 and only $130 for full rebuild. I run 20L through one last year and bearings are still good. These engines are equivalent in speed to novarossi flash 21 PT. Just much cheaper to run. Engine parts from Japanrc.net is best site. But I think they are trying to limit engines to 7 ports to cut costs.
I'm looking forward to having some close battles with you guys!!😄

Hi Marcus

It's great to see all the help & support like Roberto mentioned that this thread has done for GT racers, thanks to your incredible knowledge & time for people.

We decided to use foam tires manly because in Australia we can race all year, even through winter. The foam still gives us great grip in very cold conditions & our tracks here are not surface treated.

Also the club that has been the initiator of getting this class up & running & need to be congratulated (Penrith District Nitro Racing) This club racers at night with temperatures down to zero degrees Celsius.

They thought using foam actually keeps the cost down as no need for tire warmers etc. You would be surprised how well the foam lasts. We don't true them or anything, use them straight out of the box & just rotate them for wear.

The Team C car has started to appear at our track here now Marcus & we all can't wait to do some great racing together.

Cheers Daz
