Serpent 747 1/10 200mm touring @Nurnberg Toy Fair 2012

Starting the first day of the toy fair at the Serpent stand, we were shown around the huge number of new products in their booth. First up is the new 747 1/10th scale 200mm chase which features new geometry front and rear as well as a front flex system that through the use of two tie rods connecting the front blocks to the radio plate can help adjust the chassis flex.

An all new chassis the 747 sports new uprights and shock rod extensions on the lower rear wishbones for additional mounting options. A new centax clutch true motion sports a tapered flywheel as seen in some of its competitors cars and a the gear diffs have been updated with smoother running gears and smaller shafts for lighter weight. We are told that the car will come in at close to the proposed new weight limit by EFRA.

Such an open chassis will not help getting some ground effect.....

It looks like Serpent let pick Julius Kolff (airline pilot / Serpent team driver) choose the names for their cars now.

The next 8th scale will probably be called A380...

This is gonna be a great car! Can't wait for it. Is it March yet!

I just hope the diffs don't leak, there's no cracks in the tank and all screws are in the box. I learned my lesson for jumping on a 733 on day one.

The car does look good but this time I'll await the opinions from the masses.

A sheet of chassis protector could be used. I'd be more concerned with bending the chassis at the point under the gas tank during a hard crash. Not quite sure if the top plate is going to stiffen it all up.
