Questions?? Question regarding Failsafe and temperature

Hello RCTech community,

I've been out of the nitro scene for about 4 years. At the time, I used to run w/ a Venom failsafe. Looking at all the setups on here, looks like none of them are running failsafes. I'm pretty sure the pros don't use it. So my question to you all is what alternative is there now that I may not need one? Is it because the new 2.4 RXs and/or TXs have this feature built-in? If indeed the answer is b/c of the built-in technology, is it still necessary to have it onboard as well somewhat as a backup? Sorry for my ignorance, I'm just a little clueless to all of this now. Thanks for looking and I apologize if I've wasted your time in reading this.

Most 2.4GHZ systems have built in fail safe. Note, these only kick in when battery levels gets down to a predefined level, or if the signal is lost in a certain way.

Most guys now run these (or elastic bands) on the carb as a backup:
