Default fuel question

hi im new to this forum and i got a problem with my hpi rs4 3 evo. when i pump my fuel tank the fuel doesnt reach the carb. i disconnect the hose from the carb and pump it and no fuel comes out. so i put fuel into the throttle body and the car starts then shut off cause theres no fuel going in. can anyone help with my problem. thanks ~STEVEN

It could be that your fuel line is clogged. More then likely though your primer is not working or leaking. The problem with tank primers is that they always leak eventually. Before you go doing anything to your tank, try this. Cover the exhaust stinger with your finger and pull the starter cord a few times. This should force the fuel through the tube and into the carb. Then it will start properly. If fuel is still not going through, then somthing is blocked. Try new fuel line first since its cheap.

Best thing to do with a fuel primer is take it out, put a screw in the hole, and seal it with some hot glue or other stuff. They are prone to air leaks. Which means your fuel won't suck up the line. Best way to prime a motor is to pinch off the pressure line, then open/close the lid a couple times. You can watch the fuel go up the tubing.
