Some of the Key points that scores over the Kyosho DRX are:
1. Hex hardware, Kyosho has philips screws, I hate that. So wrenching is easier.
2. Water proof servos and battery tray, must for Rally car, to get some realistic running
3. Sway bars, to handle well on a proper RC track
4. Rear mud gaurds to keep off small stones. My Mugen has it and I love that, keeps the rear drive shafts relatively clean
5. Licensed body and tires, for that scale realism. Kyosho body looks nice, but its not the real one. This Abu Dhabi ford is the real body and Michelin tires. I am not a great fan of the Ford, but its almost real. I love Subaru, but sadly they are no longer in WRC. Would love to see a Citroen body soon.
6. Most importanty based on a tough MT/ST platform.
7. Aluminium shock towers, Kyosho has plastics.
Hope the price is also great. Above the Bullet and lesser than Trophy will be great.

Here in Germany anyway the Kyosho DRX can be had brand-new for €200. This will cost €350 probably.
I was very impressed with the quality and size and overall impression of the DRX. I've heard there's also a 2-speed option. Now THAT could be interesting..
Would be cool to see HPI offer up a real 1/8 GT car to run against IGT's and DM-1's, etc..
Looks though like this car doesn't even have 17mm hexes..
Still, cool to see another 1/8 nitro and not just some stupid new 1/10 electric SC..

Before i read further on the thread, i was picturing a side exhaust .21 and some 2 speed engineering. Good to see the 2 speed idea has already struck HPI. And it would be great if they do a GT8 to stir some more interest in areas that have had trouble keeping a GT following.
Thanks for posting Ivan.
What's the weight on that little beast??

This is based on the HPI Bullet and has been stretched a bit, so is slightly larger than a 1/10. They should have offered a .21 engine.
I see Rally is very popular in Europe. Amazing videos of rally races through custom made tracks resembling rally courses. This looks way better DRX. Look at the hardware. Price is a concern. Hope it good.

Very happy to see HPI offer this. I was excited about the Apache twins but this is what I really wanted. Please offer a kit!

It seem like the Kyosho landmax & this new Hpi wr8 are sharing the same size.
