Kyosho v one RRR versus HPI R40
Hi guys thinking of getting a pro kit and i narrowed down to the above mentioned two models. So which kit is better in terms of handling , durability and tunability.

it all depends.
for a beginner/novice i would choose the mtx-3. it is very dependable, it is almost as fast as the 710 or rrr. performs 96% as good as the best pro cars out there. very easy to work on. if you are an expert and do not wreck a whole lot i would go for the serpent 710 or kyosho rrr. i think the hpi is not as good as any of the cars mentioned above, its a good car, just not as good as the newer cars out now. |
One other factor to consider is parts availability.....theres nothing more frustrating than being unable to race due to waiting for parts.......Kyosho parts seem readily available at most online retailers, I`m not sure though about HPI.

both kyosho or HPI's offering is fine. those who do not like HPI base their opinion on the old RS4 series that was not intended for racing. The new R40 is a fine car and very durable.
tunability: both are very tunable and i really dont see any huge advantage or disadvantage durability: owned an RR and an R40 both have very beefy parts. only thing holding the HPI back is supposively the belts get loose quicker than it should. handling: one is a ifmar champ, the other is a 2 time roar champ. the results speak for themselves. i think this one depends on budget. the R40 can be had for less money than a RRR, but the cheaper US spec is not as well equiped as the RRR. on the other hand if you can get your hands on the 2004 ed of the R40 it is has a lot more options than the RRR for similar price (minus shipping/importing). both are great cars, have fun choosing. |
