The hole in the top of the piston is for the rebound for sure. I run this when I am on a bumpy track, but not on flat tracks. It makes the car less reactive on the initial shock response.

What happens since you loose reaction when entering a chicane off power?
Also DJ your recommendation for big bore shock length?

Hi Guys,

Some people have asked for my set up from the Nationals this past weekend. I will post something here over the next couple of days. There are also race reports on REDRC and Rc Car Action.

For the length of the shocks I just make sure that when I have my droop set that my shocks can extend past that point by about 1mm. This way there is never any binding when the car is moving around.

He is my set from the Nationals.

The form did not let me fill the rear data for some things

-Rear droop = 3.5
-Rear roll center = #4 (1 down from the top)
-Rear Ride height = 6.75
-Rear camber link = short and with no shims
-Rear upper pin = middle and inner position
-I used the rear shock extensions also. Used lower position hole
-In the final I ran 3.4 rear springs to help prevent traction roll

If I left anything out just ask.

Thanks,

DJ Apolaro

Hey DJ, well done and thanks for posting the setup sheet
Could you kindly confirm that you ran the front diff 100,000 and in the rear you used 200,000. Where you using the Kevlar diffs?
Re the Lower rear roll center stock setting is -0,5 could you kindly advise if its lower than that as I did not understand

Thanks

I must have made a mistake. It is 200, 000 in the front and 100, 000 in the rear.

The rear lower pins are almost all the way up. Imagine there are 5 position and 1 is the lowest. Then I am in the 4 position.

I ran the Kevlar pulley and front diff. I used the old rear diffs with the steeel gears. The traction was high and I did not want to take any chances.

Re tyre shore you went for a 3 split temp shore difference?

Thanks re rear roll center, I guess you where using such a high setup since you where using the extensions?

For me I was having a tough time keeping the split front to rear and also the rear having too much traction for my driving style. With the larger split front to rear and the higher roll center pins, this cured both things.

I almost always run the extensions and typically I use the rear pins in the middle or 1 down from the middle.

I do not think it is a better thing. It does have the big bore shocks, so the chance of traction roll is less. I think it is more about having a limited edition car and it comes with the big bore shocks instead of having to buy them separately.

In terms of performance it should be the same as a normal C02 with big bore shocks.
