12 engine help please piston and sleeve!?

I have a Hot Bodies 12 engine, and it seems to me that when the

piston reaches the top of the sleeve that it is very tight and

doesnt want to move freely(sometimes is stuck). I tried oiling it

and nothing worked. I think I could replace the sleeve but im not

sure which is bad the sleeve or the piston. Why is it doing that?

What caused it to start doing that, what can I do to prevent it

from doing it again. Its a brand new motor, so therefore Im not

sure what happen. Can anyone help? My HPI stock engine moves

freely with no sticking.....am I nuts and its supposed to do that,

or am I sane and I have a bad engine?

It's supposed to be like that.

Since the piston doesn't have piston rings like a full scale engine, there is a "pinch" to the sleeve at the top of the stroke, without it, there's no compression. As the engine runs more, it will wear in. You might try using a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the cylinder head before you try running the engine in. That will expand the sleeve and allow the piston to move free-er in the sleeve.
