Default Hudy professional tools vs. ProfiTools?

I was wondering, is there really a big diffrence between those to wrench types? How is the profitool handle, is it as slippery as it looks or does it work?
I'm ordering a S710 in the weeks now and since my last cars used philips screws all around i need to get all new wrenches.

Thanks in advice

Hey there

Don't forget about the Mugen Pro-Spec tools, these are really nice to use, for me they're better that the Hudy ones imho!

Both have the same tip if I'm not mistaken. I have the 2 mm Profitool and from what I can tell, they are no different from the aluminum handle Hudy professional with regards to the tool tip.

Personally, I would not mind the bigger handle of the Profitool. Better grip in my hands and cheaper too.

Thanks for all replies

Then I add 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 mm ProfiTools to my shopping list, or InitialD, where is the 2.5 mm used at the 710 except the front/rear pivotballs?

1. Where the engine crankcase mounts to the engine mounts (4 x M3x12 cap screws). Refer to step 9.3, page 29 of the manual.

2. Engine mounts to the engine chassis (4 x M4x10 screws). Refer to step 9.3, page 29 of the manual.

3. 2 x M4x25 at the front bulkheads. Refer to step 1.5, page 5 of the manual.

Dont forget the ball-tip version as well (I'm not sure if it is available in proofi version) at sizes 2 and 3mm.. You'll find them handy to complements your S710

I have the expirence that those balltip wrenches rip the screwheads so freaking easy, but it could depend on my cheap wrenches though..

IntialD: This is a really stupid question but... M3/M4 = 3mm/4mm hex? But it's right that the radioplate mountings etc is done with mostly 2mm?

I'm ordering the 710 from the HK, so the tools will be from there to. 6 bucks for a nice Hudy wrench, not bad

M3/M4 refers to diameter of the screws. No reference to the type of hex you need to use.

For instance M3 cap screws use 2.5 mm hexes whereas M3 button head screws use 2 mm hexes.

Yes, you need the 2 mm hex. But the button head screws are M3 i.e. 3 mm diameter.
