Default Front Diff etc

Considering buying the RRR but looking at the pics it doesn't look that easy to access the front diff, can anyone advise how easy it is compared to say the 710 and whether there is likely to be a Ball Diff conversion for the front and rear.

Cheers, Mark

Hey Diesel Racer, settled in Italy already?

I would say they are rather about the same accessing the front diff. But I don't think there's any ball diff for the front and rear of the RRR...

Hi D,

It was Spain we were going to but the bloody wife changed her mind, I tell you I'm well p@**ed, the villa is nearly finished and we were meant to be moving over next month.

Looking to buy another on-road chassis, I really liked my 710 but also quite like the look of the RRR, just not a great fan of standard planetary diffs.

Cheers, Mark

Is there a better site than the Kyosho.jp one to access more pictures of the chassis close up.

Mark

Shoot markp27 or Sow&Steady a question and I'm sure they can give you a blow by blow account of the RRR.

Have you tried the 3hobby site? Mark did a short review about it.

Is there a good place to get a comprehensive list of Kawahara RRR option parts? Or is the japanese Kawahara site the best we can do in the US?

The RRR uses a standard flat pack you can check out skyline racing.com for the battery and few accesories. As for the starter bought the team AE (ntc3 box and just moved the starter box motor to face the right way for the RRR the box lines up perfect.

Its quite an easy build, but heres a couple of tips-
* If youre running a Protoform Mazda 6 body, mount the rear body posts on the inside of the shock tower otherwise they`ll come through the body under the rear wing.
*Section 15 of the instructions shows the brake discs being fitted into the wrong hole......have a close look and you`ll see the correct hole to mount in to.
* The stock centax clutch setting was too heavy for my liking, I wound mine out about 1/2-3/4 turn and its perfect now
* The 2 speed recommends to wind out the screws 3 turns from fully wound in. I found this was way off for the tracks i race on. Between 4 turns and 3 3/4 turns is ideal for me.
* Get the Kyosho Aluminium brake hub (VZW205).....if it doesnt already come with the WC kit.......the plastic ones tend to melt if they cop too much heat.
Hope this helps a bit
Cheers
