IMO, parking lots are a bit ruff and full of grit and pebbles. running a 1/8 on road car (meaning a Mugen, Serpent, Kyosho, shepherd, Motonica) on these surfaces will let you chew up the belts and pulleys at a faster rate.
Its really low stress to fit those 90s designed GTP style bodies on 1/8 chassis and have a run, so if you dont mind a bit of dust, then why not?

you can go up on you pinion gears but majority these cars equally match..all in your driving skillz..LRP .30x is strong but lack fuel mileage...me personally i like the O.S. .21VG and GO 5 or 7 Port

I run a MRX4X and an old school HPI Proceed in parking lot drag races...yes the occasional pebble ruins a belt but its worth it when you see the speed and power of an 1/8th on-road car. I have tried every thing from 21's to 30's in those 1/8th scales as well...so far my best results have come on the Proceed with an LRP ZR30X and an "un-named" on-road pipe and header.
