1 Attachment(s)
i am going to wire my starter box that was prewired for 1 gel cell but i bought it with 2 2000's packs, when connecting the batteries do i want to connect the + and + together or go from + to -??
I have a pic to show |
You want to go + to -. That way you get the voltage up to 14.4
i dunno if this matters but in my parents motorhome it has 2 batteries and they are wired + to + and - to -.
If you do it that way you get twice to mah but not twice the voltage. He needs at least 12 volts to power the starter motor.
oh ok, thanks for you help
1 more q, can i direct solder the connections to the battery and charge it or do i wanna disconect them
Direct soldering is fine if you don't mind charging the batteries with alegator clips. I would recomend deans connectors or another high quality connector though for ease of charging.
Also, you should cover the battery bars up on those packs so the batteries won't short out if they shift.
yea im ganna zip tye them down and put some foam inbetween them and on the sides. Yea i have aligator clips on my yokomo bcs double charger :)

it didnt work , sparks were flying out and the batteries got really hot. I had one side all wired up and then as i was connecting the other side it started to spark. Any idea whats goin on? Can someone dram a diagram on the pic to show me how to wire it. would it be safer to wire each battery seperate?
ok. The white cable coming from the motor. Split it so you have your 2 separate cables (like + and -). Now solder 2 connections to one and 2 connections to the other so you have 2 sets of triple joints.
Now solder the connectors to the pos and neg of each battery separately and hook the 2 pos to one set of connections and the 2 negs to the other set of connections. |

Try this....I think that will work, it works on my NTC3 box and my Serpent box with (3) 7.2V stick packs along with the DC plugs built-in....
