I have heard that people do not like using ceramic bearing inside clutches because they heat up quicker and cause issues.

I want to buy some spare clutch bearings from acer. do you think i should go with

1. cermanic bearings
2. standard metal shield bearings
3. rubber shielded bearings

for people that are using cermanic bearings for clutches, what is your feedback please?

I use standard metal shielded bearings for my clutches. They're cheap and stand up to the heat. I do however use a flanged bearing for the inside bearing.

I have just fitted the Acer ceramic bearings to my clutch. I not tried them yet though.

I can not see how a ceramic clutch bearing would disintegrate. Unless you fail to maintain the bearing or have poor clutch setup which puts abnormal pressure on the bearing then they would surely outlast a conventional steel bearing by miles.

Don't these bearings work in temps as high as 1500F? If they were suspect to failure in high temp environments then why do engine manufactures fit ceramic crank bearings?

In my experience, I have experience to install ceramic bearing for clutch both on road and off road.

Ceramic bearing has high capacity of heating. but Clutch is diffrent issue.

Clutch is not stable, it means I installed Mugen MBX6 M-Spec and Ceramic bearings tear a lot because of rough and bump environment, so I only install metal ball bearing. I'm not sure why ceramic bearing tear alot. Now metal bearing is fine and less tear than ceramic.

I used to run them on my Kyosho RRR and my Mugen MTX4 (ceramic) with no issues at all. I used them on the Mugen because I was destroying the standard bearings, but I think that had more to do with my clutch setup. You don't need to buy ceramic bearings for the clutch but I wouldn't be hesitant about using them either.

Save your money and go with the standard metal shield bearings.
You can buy alot more of them for the same $ and replace them as often as you feel like.
Metal shield bearing are a none contact seal and spin freely.
Rubber shield bearings are a contact type seal and do not spin as free as the metal.
The clutch bearings are small enough that the any weight savings from using ceramic are minute.
There is also another site to concider, Avid Rc Bearings have what they call a revolution bearing it has a rubber seal on one side metal on the other.
They have them in ceramic as well as metal, I like them because you can remove the rubber seal easily, clean, re-oil and replace the seal.
However whatever your choice you should be fine as I think they all last about the same.
