Help with Kawahara Negative diff
 
Hi all

I am halfway thru building a negative diff. And I can't work out where the red o ring goes.

Can any body help.

you should have 2 red o rings.
put the first one in right before the gears .
o ring - shim- pin-now gears.
now gasket-gear-pin-shim

Hi, what does the negative diff do exactly ? how much different is it from the one that comes with the kit ? when do we use it ? Thanks !

it only came with one oring.

I used the standars one's in the spots where you said.

Not sure what they are used for but I noticed sirakarn had one in his car when he was here a few months back.

Negative Diff:

On power, it locks up like a solid axle.
Off power, it is a diff.

The O-rings are intended to stop the diff oil escaping from the diff. It can seep along the output shafts and onto the clutch shoes.
Here's a pic of the V-One version, but I expect the principal should be the same.

Yes this is correct.
When youre putting the O-ring in. It feels tight, like its to big.
Thats OK.

sorry for this, but I couldn't stop thinking and LOL that this might be how my wife thinks of it, " It feels tight, like its too big."
