Glow Igniter troubleshoot
I have what seems like a generic igniter that uses a C battery that can be replaced.
For some reason, a day after putting in a new battery, its power was reduced and the glow plug wouldnt glow as bright. The battery still had around 3.8 mA compared to 4.2 mA(what a brand new battery has).
Is this normal? Or is this the consequence of being too frugal?
I dont want to go through a battery each day i bash. Help!

If you're useing a alkaline battery, Glow plug will have a orange glow. Useing a NiMh 3.8-4.2mah cell it will Glow in a bright yellow color. NiCD & NiMH cells was a better load than alkaline cells. That's if you have a a Igniter with a charger. Useing Akaline batteries defeats the purpose of rechargeable batteries.

He' refering to the "charge" still present.
Aside from what Geezatec said, take a good look in the contact areas, the metal that should "grab" que glow plug. Must be clean, "bare metal"

Another thing about charging the cell. Charger that comes with the Igniterputs our .500ma per hour. 3.8mah cel would take up to 7 hours to charge. Stock igniters com with 1700mah cells up 3 hours of charge. try charging the cell when you get home from work or school, then trying it b4 you go to sleep. You'll be fine then.

Thanks all for your input. Looks like i gotta go rechargeable.
I have another battery issue with my transmitter.
Does the transmitter work the same way as the igniter how the mA has to be from 3.8 to 4.2?
Because the batteries have aroound 3.2-3.8 mA right now.
