Good servo for 1/8 onroad??
Used to use Sanwa ERG-VZ, but it seems to be discontinued product. Looking for good servo's to my brand new MRX5-car. Any suggestions? Maybe I'm wrong but it looks likes that the new Sanwa servo's are not giving as good tech specs than the old ones (13kg/0.10sec). What would be the VZ replacement from the new ones?
Or would it still be wice to try to find a couple of VZ-servos and go with them? -X- (-1C and raining ice-cold water today here) |
I'm also amazed by the current Sanwa line of servo's.
They used to have servo's with speeds of around 0.06/0.07 seconds but now they all are around 0.10. Even the supposed to be super fast SRG servo's are 0.10. They claim the SRG technology makes them a lot faster but they don't give you any numbers on how much faster they are, plus I don't think this technology can make up for 0.03 seconds. I'm currently looking at some Kopropo RSX servo's, super fast, a lot of power and you can connect them straight to a Lipo. I only hope Kopropo will make a low profile version pretty soon. ;) |
These are actually pretty damn good for the money:

If you are looking for indestructible, strong and cost effective than look no further than Hitec they have the new high voltage premium digital that can handle lipos without a regulator (you know everything is going to lipo)
Take a look at the TH-7940 has a .06 speed on lipo TH-7945 has a 300+ oz. in. of torque Titanium gears !! |

If you want to save a few bucks. SAVOX is a decent option.

The Savox SC-1258 is very snappy but it draws a bit more juice than the Futaba BLS servos.

I think the OP needs to give a price range first ,then people could give better input
|
Thanks for everybody. It's nice to see that I'm not alone thinking about these things...
The price range is somewhere in the VZ-SRG area. The RSX-level hurts a little bit too much. Second, you have to always remember that it's the total cost that counts. If something fails, (receiver, battery, throttle servo), I will loose the engine at the same time, in the worst case scenario... -X- (-3C and snowing today) |
