making foam tires.
does anyone know where to get foam for making your own foam tires? when we used to run slot cars they sold little blanks and we just remounted them and trued them. it would be nice to do the same for these tires.

I used to do the same. I would buy used up 1/8 th tires and mount my own foam. Try E-bay for used tires, or your local track.

A friend of mine bought some from Tower Hobbies. He called them doughtnuts (like the food).
I think they were from Trinity. |

CRC sells donuts, the rubber is good quality. www.teamcrc.com You could also get ellegie donuts too. Make sure you're buying front donuts for fronts, and rear donuts for rears. IE... 40 shore front is harder than 40 shore rears. Sounds silly but a durometer will show a harder rubber front than rear even if it says same shore rating.
