Hudy tire turer problem

Wasn't sure where to post this but I knew you guys could help me.
My Hudy tire turer doesn't spin the tire in the "diameter" direction. It does spin it in the "round" direction.
Any ideas?

Mate, I have a Hudy tire truer as well and in diameter it only starts spinnin when when you push switch to move the cutter. Isn't that the way they're supposed to be?

I do have the switch in stock, it's very easy to replace, just replace it yourself and see if that fixes the problem.
