Default XTM 24.7 fit ofna dm1 spec

Hi, everyone i'm news over this forum i've been long time in electric rc and recently i bought my first nitro rc it's a ofna dm1 spec RTR. Unfortunatly the force .28 engine that come with it broke after at least 1 and a half gallon (crankshaft journal broke and broke de connecting rod in the same time). with some search i found interesting in buying XTX 24.7 engine and like to know if it with fit my dm1 spec frame bolt-on ? or i would be better with the XTM 457 Pro Truck 6 Port Engine .28ci w/ps. In search of not extrem power but more reliability and durable engine

thanks for you help

Generally all big block nitro engines are interchangeable.

I have one I ran in a savage. It has been a great motor. Good torque and plenty of top end .

hustler777 why do you say that on the XTM engine ?

what other engine could be a great choice for my ofna dm1 spec, not really need to be extrem performant just want a good durable engine at good price?

I have both silver Block xtm 24.7 and black block. Black is supposed to the pro version. I bolt them on a savage and inferno GT, zero issue, tuning is super easy. I use Mc-COY 59 glow plug and various brands of 30% nitro fuel. Not a racing motor be honest, just bashing around its GOOD. XTM24.7 i recommend. IF your old motor is pull start, i dont see any issue to bolt on the chassis. BE nice to the pull start, when new the compression is insane. One cons is the pull start, the string is kinda weak. Have fun.

I've been running a Mach 427 (silver, with a closed backplate) for a long time, and just put in a LRP ZR.30X.. MUCH better.. And I love my Machs (also in Savages, RC8T, SC8, etc..) But IMO the DM-1 needs more balls to push the gearing.. A .28 like the Losi 454, LRP Spec 3, XTM 457 Pro etc.. would all be ideal I think..(They're all the same engine btw too - or at least very, VERY close..) The Losi 454 is cheapest on ebay generally..

I only use a starter box, so I don't know about mounting. Usually engines with pullstarts have big bulky backplates that complicate mounting..

in regards to mounting issue, make sure your motor mount is tall enought to accomodate the bulky pull start unit. This is from bump start to pull start.
From pull start to bump start; then make sure your motor mount sits low enough; so the fly wheel can hit the bump start rubber wheel and yet the fly wheel is not too big to hit chassis or too small that cant reach the starter box rubber.
