NT1 Shock Bladders

Happy New Year to all firstly.

Has anyone had any issues with swelling of the shock bladders on the NT1 ? I recently rebuilt my shocks (refilled with oil) and when re-assembling I could not get them right at all. The oil was not bleeding out of the shock cap hole at all (and on all 4 shocks) when I threaded it on and wound it down.

I changed the shock bladders for new ones, and all was fine - built as normal.

All I can conclude is that the old bladders had swelled up and were blocking the bleed hole. The old bladders do seem a bit swelled up and soft compared to the new ones.

Any feedback on similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

I never encounted this... I always bleed the shocks from the bottom, not from the cap.

Yes, this happens with the stock bladders.
The performance of the shock will degrade as well when the bladder is swollen and soft.

When you are running the stock bladders you want to change them about every month or before every big race. When you have some more experience with this you really start to notice when the bladders need replacing.

When I was still running Xray I switched to Tamiya/muchmore bladders, because these don't have this problem and have a different profile.
Xray recently released different bladders which are a bit more like the Tamiya bladders. Maybe these work a bit better then the stock bladders.
Capricorn bladders fit as well and don't have this swelling problem.
