Hello I would appreciate any help.
I have width this problem in one of my jatos for a while.
It will start normally when cool and run great for 5 to 10 minutes and then will shut off after a speed run, at this point is very difficult to start it back on, will run the starter but will not fire the engine up... When eventually it starts will only run and shut off again shortly after. This will only stop if I let the engine rest for a while (half hour) and then start again, but all problems will start again 5 mins after.. Also It has been burning up glow plugs too often..

Things I have crossed off.
Good fuel flow.
New Tank.
New carburetor.
Engine and carburetor sealed.
Piston and sleeve seems to have good compression.
Replace several type glow plugs
Swap with blue single chamber traxxas pipe (no changes).
Temperature is normal no overheat.


Any knowledgeable suggestions will be appreciated...

check your crank bearing could be one of the reason it burn new plug.

Sounds like you're running too lean... At high RPM you're likely leaning out (possible air leak, or lean HSN) and that's what will cook your plugs, and not allow the engine to re-fire.

I'd try to richen up your HSN a bit.

It's a mixture of running to lean/burning out plugs. My chinese buggy used to do it and it drove me crazy.

I have tried all posible tuning settings, never had this problem with my other jatos, this I bought used.
The main problem is that it will just not start after 5 or 10 minutes of use..

I order a piston and sleeve.

You can take your engine in to a Traxass dealer and trade it in for a new one. It only cost $110 or $115. The condition of the old engine doesn't matter. I work at HobbyTown USA in Indianapolis and we are doing this trade in every day.

The symptoms you mention indicate to be a bent rod or a main bearing problem. The trade in is your best deal. The new piston/sleeve will not solve this.
