i got my 24 mm tire on a 26 mm rims. I was wondering if they are going to wear out faster being on a different size rim.

It used to be a pretty popular thing to do. It makes the side walls stiffer although gluing can be a bit of a pain. As long as everything is seated and glued properly, you shouldn't have a problem.
