Hello everyone,
wanted to get some ideas of what will be the best body for a mugen mrx4-x running mostly in parking lots and never competing with it professionally... Thank you for any help in this matter. Looking for top speed stability . would .30 or .40 in either manufacturers meet my needs more.?. Any alternatives would be welcome too... Thank you in advance!

The Protoform P909 is a great body for the MRX4X. Very stable, good steeing
If you are just parking lot bashing, use the reqular weight.
The Central body is also good, but not sure if they are still in production.
The Frisbe, <no good> R12<has a push>. You could even use the Zytek body, but they are not produced by either company. You can get all these bodies from Kamikaze Toys and Hobbies, Cerritos Ca. Check out their web-site.There are also some new Blitz bodies that work good on the Mugen, and some are prepainted. Again, Kamikaze Hobbies

Definitely go for a Protoform body, either the P909 (being the latest, more grip all round I think) or the other one from Protoform, just can't beat their bodies.

Don't be afraid to try the Blitz Radical or ZX-9 if you are looking for hi-speed steering.

Its just an important to mount the body correctly, as it is to use the correct body.
Mount the P909 body approx. 12mm from the front tip of the bumper to the edge of the body. If you alter the way the body is mounted, it greatly effects the handling of the car.
A lot of guys will just use the engine cuts outs to mount the body.
The engine cuts outs are only approx. dem.
Use a very thin line sharpie, and draw a straight line on the inside of the body 12mm from the front of the body. This is where the bumper lines up.
The sharpie line does not have to be solid line accross the inside of the body, just enough to line up the edge of the bumper.

12mm is rubbish for me. I needed at least 14 to get the steering I desire. But then, some people like a more stable car.

I had two MRX4X cars, and I did have an issue with the mounting on each car.
One I had to use 12 mm on one car, and the other was between 13mm to 14mm
Never could fiqure out why, as both cars were set up identical.
I finally did wind up using the longer Kyosho uprights on the one car<on the rear> and 12mm worked good for mounting the body. I wound up with great rear traction, and plenty of steering using this set up

Wish I would have know before hand, I threw away 4 Frisbee body a couple of weeks ago. Two were painted, two unpainted. None were cut out.
I use a lot of the older style bodies to try different paint schemes on.
You could have had all the bodies for free
